AFAC NEWS

Advocates for Africa’s Children is beginning 2025 with exciting news for the future of education at Lawrence Academy in Tanzania. Construction on our new 5th grade classroom is underway, and we could not be more grateful or excited.
What started as a vision to provide quality education in an underserved community has steadily grown into something truly remarkable. Over the years, with the support of faithful donors, volunteers, church partners, and sponsors, Lawrence Academy has expanded from a dream into a thriving school community filled with eager students, dedicated teachers, and growing opportunities.
Each classroom built has represented far more than bricks and cement. Every new space has opened doors for children who may not otherwise have access to consistent, quality education. As the school has continued to grow grade by grade, students have gained the opportunity to continue their education without interruption, remain in a nurturing environment, and build a stronger foundation for their future.
Milestones to the Future
Now, the construction of the 5th grade classroom marks another important step forward in that journey.
This new classroom will provide a warm, safe, and engaging environment where students can continue learning, growing, and preparing for the future. Just as importantly, it allows Lawrence Academy to continue progressing toward its long-term goal of expanding through the grades.
Continuing to build the school is essential for the students and families we serve. Without upper-grade classrooms, many students face significant barriers to continuing their education after completing the lower grades. Access to quality middle school education is either limited, expensive, or located far from home. By expanding Lawrence Academy through the grades, we are creating continuity, stability, and long-term educational opportunities for these children.
Also, this growth strengthens the entire community. As students stay in school longer, they gain confidence, develop leadership skills, and prepare for brighter futures that can impact their families and villages for generations to come.
Most importantly, every stage of construction reflects the faithfulness and generosity of supporters like you. Your prayers, encouragement, and financial contributions are helping transform lives one classroom at a time.
We celebrate how far Lawrence Academy has already come. We look forward with hope to all that is still ahead.
Thank you for being part of this journey and for helping make this dream a reality.
