Heidi Lum
Founder and President
Heidi founded Advocates for Africa’s Children (AFAC) in 2006. She has worked in eSwatini (Swaziland) since 2005 and in Tanzania since 2016. Prior to founding AFAC, she was an accountant and also a full-time mother. Heidi and her husband have been married for 28 years and they have two sons. She is currently a Lay Pastor, Elder, and Deacon at First Presbyterian Church of Honolulu, an ECO Presbyterian church, and is an ordination candidate in the ECO Presbyterian denomination. Heidi graduated from Boston University with a B.S. and from Fuller Theological Seminary with an M.A. in Global Leadership. She enjoys swimming, music, and reading historical fiction.

Brian Fila
Brian is a retired member of the U.S. Government Senior Executive Service and Captain in the U.S. Navy. He has led in almost every sector including: government, the armed forces, ministry, academia, law enforcement, and in the non-profit community. He owns his own business, is a lecturer at Hawai’i Pacific University, and is a Partner in Leader Development Network Global (www.ldnglobal.com), a 501C3 organization dedicated to transforming men and women into leaders of confidence, competence, and capacity. Brian lives in Kaneohe with his wife Beth and has two adult children and two grandchildren.
Kristi Maynard
Kristi is the Chief Financial Officer of Finance Factors. She holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and an MBA in finance and accounting. Kristi is on the board of several non-profit institutions, serves on the State of Hawaii Council on Revenues and is an elder of First Presbyterian Church of Honolulu. Kristi is married and mother of three young adult children.

Mdudzi Patrick Dlamini
Chairman
Patrick has several fields of expertise including capacity building, programme and project management, program monitoring and evaluation, including financial and human resource management. He has held positions as Deputy PEPFAR Coordinator at the US Embassy in Swaziland, National Project Coordinator for United Nations (UNODC), and Monitoring System Manager at National Emergency Response Council on HIV (NERCHA). He holds a BS in Social Science from the University of Swaziland and an MBA from Management College of Southern Africa in Durban, South Africa. He is married with three children.
